This Prichard Periosteal Elevator is a combination of periosteal elevator and retractor.  The sharp side is used in the periodontal section as a periosteal elevator.  Following the preparation of the lobes, the broad, blunt working part is used.  In doing this, the lobe is held away to the side thereby making possible a better view on curettage and on scaling in the molar area.
